Visiting Artist

Self Portraits - Inspired by Pablo Picasso

We welcomed to our classroom a visiting artist, Mr. MacGregor, on Wednesday, May 29th.  During his visit, he introduced the students to Cubism and the work of Pablo Picasso.  He worked with small groups to guide and teach the students how to draw their own self portraits.  I have taken photographs of their self portraits on the first day.  The second part of this lesson involves making the self portraits look like a Pablo Picasso.  The students will cut apart their pictures, and reassemble in the sytle of Cubism art.  I will take photos following the second step, and post the finished works on the blog too!
