The students in our classroom have completed the second rotation through Language Tubs.  We circulate through six Language Tubs, over the course of six days.  We work on a variety of language skills by participating in games and hands on activities.

Terry Fox Run

 

Our students participated in the Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 27th, 2013.  We had many students dedicate their run to a family member or family friend.  Thank you to families who returned the pink notices so that we could write the correct information on your child's sticker.  Thank you also for the generous donations!  Our class partnered with Mrs. John's Grade 5/6 class for the run.  We appreciated having older students to help us run/walk around the route.  It was a great afternoon!

Class Books

 

Our students have been busy writers during the first month of school!  We have written 4 class books including:  "Introducing Mrs. Piurko and Mrs. Greco's Kindergarten Class," "I Like," "I Am" and "We are Bucket Fillers."  The class books are sent home with one student each day.  Please read the book with your child, record a comment on the tracking sheet, and return to school on the next school day.  We hope you enjoy reading our  books!

 

Our Proud Board

 

Our students are very excited about the prospect of earning a "WOW" badge!  We are looking for students showing "WOW" behaviour during the school day.  We are adding photos of the students wearing their WOW badge to our Proud Board.  We have given badges to Ivana, Angad, Kingsley and Lilah.  Congratulations boys and girls!

Our students have enjoyed the first rotation of language tubs.  We have been learning and practicing our letters in a variety of ways.  We will be moving onto our second rotation with a focus on The Kissing Hand book.  Watch for photos from the new language tubs soon.

We had an exciting first day of school!  We welcomed 27 students into our classroom on September 3rd, 2013.  We have 9 returning students and 18 new students.  We also welcomed Mrs. E. Greco, our ECE and Mrs. J. King, our E.A.
