Our Fall Felt Board

Two of our students used the new fall felt board pieces to create an amazing fall scene in our classroom recently.  We wanted to share their creation with you.
Enjoy!

Another group of students were inspired to create a felt fall scene!

Our Fall Trees

We are working together with a partner to create fall trees using play doh and leaf cutters.  Here are some of the finished products:

Our students have continued to enjoy creating designs with our tangram shapes!  Today we had 5 students working together to encourage, admire and applaud one another's creations!  It was wonderful to listen to their conversations as they worked through a number of challenges - both in sharing space and materials.  I hope to take more photos soon of their amazing designs!

Literacy Centres

Our Senior Kindergarten students have begun to participate in Literacy Centres during the morning.  The students use our green planning boards to choose a learning centre that will help them with letters, sounds, sight words, reading and writing.  It is during this time that Mrs. Piurko and Mrs. Greco meet with small groups to work on reading and writing lessons.  Our Junior Kindergarten students will begin to participate in Literacy Centre time shortly.

Here are some photos from today:

Shared/Interactive Writing

Our students were very excited this morning to share the pen with the teacher to write our morning message.  We selected helpers to come and write what they were able into our sentence.  It took three students to write the word "our" but working together the students were able to complete the task.  They were so proud of themselves for being able to write all the words in the message.  We then selected students to come and use the reading pointer stick to point to the words while the rest of the class read the message!  It was a great way to start our day!
