On Friday, February 22nd, the kids of Room 132 had a busy and exciting day!
We began the morning by rotating through our number sense math centres. The children rotate through 5 math centres over the course of two weeks. Each centre allows the students to explore, interact with and experiment with mathematical concepts focused on a particular strand of math. Our current centres allow the students to practice and develop their skills with numbers from 1 to 20.
In science, we focused on the four seasons. We read the book, "Caps, Hats, Socks and Mittens." We talked about "prior knowledge" when we discussed the seasons. We returned to our science discussion later in the day with a focus specifically on winter.
In health, we continued to discuss ways to be healthy - exercise, eating good food, rest, keeping clean. We read two health related books on Book-flix for our afternoon read aloud.
We also had time for Literacy Centres in the morning and play centres in the afternoon, and gym with our friends from Room 131 in the morning.
Another great day in Kindergarten!
